Job Description
Are you a compassionate animal lover seeking a rewarding role that keeps you active and outdoors? Happy Hounds Brisbane is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers to join our growing team. This flexible part-time position is perfect for individuals who enjoy spending time with animals, have a keen eye for detail, and are committed to providing the highest standard of care. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of a variety of pets, from playful pups to cuddly cats, while their owners are away or at work. Enjoy the freedom of working independently, exploring Brisbane’s beautiful parks and neighborhoods, and making a real difference in the lives of pets and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and compassionate pet sitting services, including feeding, watering, playtime, and administering medication as required.
- Conduct safe and stimulating dog walks, adhering to agreed-upon routes and schedules.
- Monitor pets for any signs of distress or illness and report concerns to owners promptly.
- Maintain a clean and tidy pet environment during sittings.
- Communicate regularly with pet owners, providing updates and photos.
- Ensure the security of clients' homes and pets at all times.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and passion for animals.
- Reliable and punctual with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to walk dogs of various sizes and temperaments in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Access to reliable transportation (car preferred).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet sitting, dog walking, veterinary care, or animal shelter work.
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of animal behavior and basic training techniques.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
