Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-time Site Hand to join our construction team in Mount Gambier. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for consistent day shifts within the construction industry. As a Site Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting various site operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient working environment. This position involves general labor, assisting skilled trades, and contributing to the overall success of our projects. We value proactive team members who are committed to safety and quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general manual labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, digging, and moving materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organised construction site, including rubbish removal and tidying work areas.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a safety-first culture.
  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist with site setup and pack down procedures.

Required Skills

  • Must possess a valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 20kg.
  • Reliability and punctuality for all scheduled shifts.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on a construction site.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
