Job Description
Join Australia Post as a Parcel Sorter on our dynamic night shifts in Rockingham. This essential role is critical to ensuring the efficient flow of parcels through our distribution network, connecting people and businesses across Australia. You will be responsible for accurately sorting various mail items and parcels, preparing them for dispatch, and contributing to a safe and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately sort parcels and mail items into designated areas or cages.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Operate sorting machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Identify and report any damaged or misrouted items.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sorting targets and deadlines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistent night shifts and maintain punctuality.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to lift heavy parcels (up to 23kg) repeatedly.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment.
- Forklift license (LF) is an advantage but not essential.
