Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Packing Shed Hands to join our dynamic team in Kalgoorlie for the upcoming fruit and vegetable season. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced agricultural environment and is eligible for 88-day sign-off for eligible visa holders. You will be an integral part of our packing operations, ensuring our fresh produce meets the highest quality standards before distribution. This is a physically demanding role in a busy shed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sorting, grading, and packing fresh fruit and vegetables according to quality standards and specifications.
- Operating and monitoring packing machinery and equipment as required.
- Performing general shed duties including cleaning, stacking, and basic maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adhering to all food safety, quality assurance, and occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures.
- Assisting with other tasks as directed by the Shed Supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderate weights for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends during peak season.
- Basic English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing shed or agricultural environment.
- Current forklift license (desirable but not essential).
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Access to reliable transport.
