Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Online SAT/IELTS Prep Tutor – Specialist Education to join our expert team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ futures by guiding them through the intricacies of the SAT and IELTS exams. As an Online Specialist Tutor, you will deliver engaging, personalized instruction, develop tailored study plans, and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their target scores. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Australia while connecting with students globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, engaging online tutoring sessions for SAT and IELTS preparation.
- Develop individualized learning plans and strategies based on student needs and diagnostic assessments.
- Provide comprehensive instruction on all sections of the SAT (Reading, Writing, Math) and IELTS (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking).
- Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and adjust teaching methods to optimize learning outcomes.
- Utilize Kaplan's proprietary educational materials and digital platforms effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest exam formats, scoring criteria, and test-taking strategies for SAT and IELTS.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding academic progress and challenges.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.
Required Skills
- Exceptional knowledge and expertise in both SAT and IELTS exam content and strategies.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in teaching or tutoring SAT and IELTS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and digital learning tools.
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Certifications in SAT/IELTS instruction or test preparation.
- Prior experience working in an online educational setting.
- Familiarity with Kaplan's curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Experience with curriculum development or content creation for standardized tests.
