Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offset Printer to join our dynamic team in Gympie. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining offset printing presses to produce high-quality commercial print materials. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of printing processes, and a commitment to meeting production deadlines and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain offset printing presses (e.g., Heidelberg, Komori) according to job specifications.
- Set up presses, including loading paper, mixing inks, adjusting registration, and ensuring color accuracy.
- Monitor print quality throughout production runs, making necessary adjustments to maintain standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on printing equipment.
- Troubleshoot printing issues and resolve them efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines in the print shop.
- Work collaboratively with other production team members to achieve production goals.
- Maintain accurate production records and logs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Qualified Offset Printer in a commercial printing environment.
- Strong understanding of offset printing principles, mechanics, and color theory.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various offset printing presses.
- Excellent color matching and registration skills.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and specifications accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy paper stocks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification or certification in printing.
- Experience with digital printing technologies is a plus.
- Forklift license.
- Knowledge of prepress processes and graphic design software.
