Job Description

Star News Group is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals for part-time Newspaper Inserter positions. This role is perfect for teens and young adults looking for night shift work, offering a great introduction to the workforce. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our newspapers are perfectly collated and ready for distribution, contributing to the timely delivery of news to our readers across the Latrobe Valley.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately insert advertising supplements and flyers into newspaper sections
- Collate and stack newspapers and inserts according to specifications
- Operate inserting machinery safely and efficiently after training
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet production deadlines
Required Skills
- Ability to work night shifts as required
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Capable of lifting and moving bundles of newspapers (up to 10kg)
- Eagerness to learn and follow instructions
Preferred Qualifications
- No prior experience required – full training will be provided!
- Basic understanding of workplace safety
