Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Tech professional to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying advanced NLP models and systems that power various Google products and services. You will work with large datasets, leverage state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, and collaborate with researchers and engineers to bring innovative solutions to life. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement NLP models and algorithms for various applications, including text analysis, information extraction, sentiment analysis, and machine translation.
- Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to train and evaluate NLP models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including machine learning engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to integrate NLP solutions into existing products.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in NLP research and apply cutting-edge techniques to solve complex problems.
- Optimize and fine-tune NLP models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
- Conduct experiments and evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics.
- Document design choices, methodologies, and results clearly and comprehensively.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python.
- Solid understanding of NLP concepts, theories, and algorithms (e.g., tokenization, parsing, named entity recognition, topic modeling, transformers).
- Experience with NLP libraries and frameworks such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, or similar.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Proficient in data manipulation and analysis using libraries like Pandas and NumPy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
- Publications in top-tier NLP or AI conferences.
- Experience with deep learning architectures for NLP (e.g., LSTMs, GRUs, Transformers).
- Knowledge of MLOps practices for deploying and maintaining NLP models.
