Job Description
Are you a compassionate, reliable, and energetic individual looking for flexible part-time work in the childcare sector? Placement Solutions is seeking a dedicated Nanny / Mother’s Helper to support families in the Paddington area of Brisbane. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and busy parents, providing essential support in a warm home environment. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and genuinely loves working with children, capable of adapting to various family needs and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and engaging care for children of various ages, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with daily routines including meal preparation for children, bath time, and bedtime.
- Organize and supervise age-appropriate educational and recreational activities both indoors and outdoors.
- Perform light household duties related to childcare, such as tidying children's play areas and laundry.
- Transport children to and from school, appointments, or activities as needed.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Help maintain a clean and organized home environment, primarily focusing on child-centric areas.
- Offer occasional support to mothers with newborn care, light errands, or sibling supervision.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in childcare, babysitting, or a similar role.
- Genuine love for children and understanding of child development stages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain one.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Early Childhood Education, Nanny Diploma, or related field.
- Experience with multiple children or specific age groups (e.g., infants, toddlers, school-aged).
- Ability to cook healthy and nutritious meals for children.
- References from previous childcare positions.
- Proactive attitude and ability to anticipate family needs.
