Job Description
Join our team at Perfection Fresh Australia as a Mushroom Picker in our state-of-the-art indoor farm in Kalgoorlie. This casual position offers flexible day shifts, providing you with the opportunity to contribute to the growth and harvesting of premium quality mushrooms. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who are eager to work in a controlled, clean, and collaborative environment. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully pick and harvest mushrooms according to quality standards and production targets.
- Inspect mushrooms for quality, size, and damage, ensuring only premium product is selected.
- Pack harvested mushrooms into designated containers, following precise packaging guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to strict hygiene and food safety protocols.
- Monitor growing conditions and report any anomalies to supervisors.
- Assist with other farm duties as required, including substrate preparation and facility sanitation.
Required Skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting moderate weights (up to 15kg) if required.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a farm, horticultural, or food production environment.
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Forklift license (beneficial but not essential).
