Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Motorcycle Mechanic specializing in Performance Bikes to join our dynamic team at Moto Adelaide. This role requires an individual with a profound understanding of high-performance motorcycles, from engine management and suspension tuning to complex diagnostics and custom modifications. You will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of performance-oriented motorcycles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on a variety of performance motorcycles.
- Execute engine rebuilds, top-end servicing, and performance tuning (carburetor and EFI systems).
- Conduct intricate electrical system troubleshooting and repair.
- Perform suspension setup, adjustment, and servicing for optimal handling.
- Install and tune performance upgrades, including exhausts, quick-shifters, and brake systems.
- Prepare bikes for track days and competitive events, providing expert setup advice.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Accurately document all services performed and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
Required Skills
- Certified Motorcycle Mechanic qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with performance motorcycles.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software for various motorcycle brands.
- Expertise in engine repair, rebuilds, and tuning.
- Strong understanding of motorcycle electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with modern suspension systems and tuning principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid motorcycle license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific high-performance brands such as Ducati, Aprilia, BMW (S1000RR), Yamaha (R1), Kawasaki (ZX-10R), or similar.
- Previous experience with dyno tuning and performance mapping.
- Certifications in specialized motorcycle systems or brands.
- Experience in a race team or track support environment.
- Own advanced tools and equipment.
