Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to oversee and manage our critical IT infrastructure operations at our Port Hedland facilities. This role involves leading a team of infrastructure specialists, ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of our network, servers, data centers, and cloud environments. The successful candidate will be instrumental in strategic planning, project execution, and maintaining high availability for all IT systems essential to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT infrastructure specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking (LAN/WAN), virtualization, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, and architectural designs to support business growth and technological advancements.
  • Manage IT infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place and regularly reviewed to protect company assets.
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical IT systems.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements (SLAs) for external infrastructure providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response as required.

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience in managing complex IT infrastructure environments.
  • Proficiency in network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls).
  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Solid understanding of data storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Backup/Recovery).
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience with IT service management frameworks (ITIL).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).
  • Experience in the mining or heavy industry sectors.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) infrastructure.
