Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Alsco Uniforms as an Industrial Laundry Sorter in Geelong. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking reliable, full-time work with consistent Monday to Friday hours. You will play a crucial role in our operation, ensuring that incoming textiles are efficiently sorted and prepared for the washing process. We are looking for a detail-oriented and physically capable individual who is committed to maintaining high standards of organization and safety within our industrial laundry facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort incoming soiled linen and uniforms by type, color, and wash requirements.
- Inspect items for damage, foreign objects, and pre-treat as necessary.
- Load sorted items onto conveyer belts or into industrial washing machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
- Assist with other general duties within the laundry as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, full-time hours.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different textile types.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, and twist.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with industrial machinery and sorting processes.
- Current forklift license (desirable, but not essential).
