Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Incident Response Coordinator to join our critical operations team in Whyalla, South Australia. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the response to security and operational incidents across our transport network. This is a vital position that requires strong organizational skills, technical acumen, and the ability to act decisively under pressure to minimize disruption and protect our assets and personnel. You will work closely with various internal departments, external partners, and emergency services to ensure swift and effective resolution of all incidents. This role offers a high hourly rate for an experienced professional dedicated to maintaining operational integrity in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all operational and security incidents, initiating the incident response process promptly.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams during incident resolution, ensuring clear communication and defined roles.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and documentation tailored for the transport industry.
- Monitor real-time operational systems and security alerts to detect potential incidents proactively.
- Conduct thorough post-incident analysis to identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and implement preventative measures.
- Train and educate staff on incident recognition, reporting procedures, and their roles during an incident.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and third-party vendors, as required.
- Manage incident communication to internal and external audiences, providing timely and accurate updates.
- Participate in regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of incident response plans.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in incident response, crisis management, or security operations within the transport, logistics, or critical infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of operational technologies (OT) and information technology (IT) systems common in transport environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading diverse teams under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions quickly and effectively.
- Proficiency in incident management tools and software.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Availability to respond to incidents outside of regular business hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as GCIH, PMP, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with compliance frameworks relevant to transport and critical infrastructure (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Familiarity with hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies.
