Job Description
Join Ability Options as an In-Home Respite Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in the Penrith area. This part-time role focuses on providing essential in-home respite care during day hours, offering support to clients with disabilities and their families. You will provide compassionate care, engage clients in meaningful activities, and assist with daily living tasks, all while creating a safe and stimulating environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to clients in their homes, following individual care plans.
- Engage clients in a variety of recreational, social, and developmental activities.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and light household duties as required.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of client activities and progress.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the Ability Options team.
- Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a respite, aged care, or disability support role.
- Knowledge of person-centred care principles.
