Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our growing team in Cairns. This role focuses primarily on commercial projects, involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, possess strong technical abilities, and be committed to delivering outstanding service. A company vehicle will be provided for travel to various job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in commercial settings, including chillers, boilers, package units, and split systems.
  • Perform diagnostic checks and troubleshoot complex HVAC system issues.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders promptly.
  • Manage vehicle inventory and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, with significant commercial experience.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems.
  • Valid ARC refrigeration handling license.
  • Current Queensland Restricted Electrical Licence (Disconnect/Reconnect).
  • Valid Australian Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant TAFE or vocational qualifications in HVAC or refrigeration.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
