Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Hospital Orderlies (Entry Level) at Manning Base Hospital. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to start a fulfilling career in healthcare, as no prior experience is required, and full paid training will be provided. As an Orderly, you will play a crucial role in supporting clinical staff and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our patients. You will be an essential part of our patient care team, assisting with patient transport, equipment management, and general support services. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and courteously transport patients between various departments (e.g., wards, operating theatres, diagnostic imaging) using wheelchairs, trolleys, and beds.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transferring them to and from beds, chairs, and other equipment, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Distribute and collect patient meals, assisting with feeding as required and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of patient rooms, treatment areas, common spaces, and corridors in accordance with infection control policies.
- Manage, clean, and prepare medical equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and appropriately stored for immediate use.
- Assist nursing staff with various patient care tasks as directed, always operating within the established scope of practice.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to requests from medical and nursing staff, demonstrating a proactive approach to supporting the healthcare team.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including rigorous infection control protocols.
- Provide empathetic and respectful support to patients and their families, contributing to a positive patient experience.
