Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Seasonal Honey Harvesters to join our team for the upcoming harvesting season in the Karratha region. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit, and eager to contribute to the production of high-quality Australian honey. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided, and all necessary protective gear and tools will be supplied. You will be an integral part of a small, supportive team, working directly with bee colonies to extract and process honey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the removal of honey frames from beehives using established safety protocols.
  • Transport full honey frames from apiary sites to processing facilities.
  • Operate honey extraction equipment under supervision.
  • Clean and prepare frames for return to beehives.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of apiary sites and processing areas.
  • Adhere to strict hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Monitor bee health and report any unusual observations to the lead apiarist.
  • Participate in general apiary maintenance tasks as required.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures diligently.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Comfortable working around bees (protective gear provided).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Australian Class C driver's license (manual transmission preferred).
  • Experience in an agricultural or outdoor labourer role.
  • Basic knowledge or interest in beekeeping/apiculture.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak season.
  • First Aid certification.
