Job Description
Join Viterra for an exciting opportunity as a Grain Bin Sorter for our upcoming casual seasonal work period. We are seeking dedicated individuals to assist with the efficient sorting and management of grain within our facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and smooth flow of agricultural products from farm to market. Overtime hours will be available, providing an excellent opportunity to maximize your earnings during the season. This is an on-site position at our facility in Salisbury, South Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort and separate different types of grain according to quality standards and operational procedures.
- Operate and monitor grain handling equipment under supervision, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Perform routine quality checks on grain samples and accurately report any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment within the grain bins and surrounding areas, adhering to all hygiene standards.
- Assist with general site maintenance, manual handling tasks, and other operational duties as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and relevant industry regulations at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and quality checking tasks.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to team goals.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as an effective part of a team.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines, with a proactive approach to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agriculture, warehousing, or a similar industrial environment is an asset.
- Forklift license (though not essential, it will be highly regarded and may lead to additional responsibilities).
- Basic understanding of grain types, quality parameters, and storage practices.
