Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable General Utility Hands to join our Mining Camp Support teams across various regions in Western Australia. This vital role involves providing essential services to maintain the high standards and smooth operation of our remote mining camps. As a General Utility Hand, you will be involved in a diverse range of tasks, contributing directly to the comfort and safety of our on-site personnel. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in the mining sector and commit to a FIFO (Fly-In/Fly-Out) or DIDO (Drive-In/Drive-Out) lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties across camp facilities, including accommodation, common areas, and dining facilities.
- Assist with laundry services, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens and workwear.
- Support catering operations, including basic food preparation, dishwashing, and dining room setup/cleanup.
- Undertake minor maintenance and repair tasks as required around the camp premises.
- Assist with stores management, including receiving, sorting, and distributing supplies.
- Provide general labour support for various camp-related projects and tasks.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure efficient camp operations and a positive living environment.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and following established procedures.
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Valid Australian driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar utility, cleaning, hospitality, or general labour role.
- Experience working in remote environments or mining camps.
- Basic first aid certification.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
