Job Description
Are you a budding filmmaker or editor eager to get hands-on experience in a dynamic production environment? ITV Studios is seeking a passionate and driven Video Production Intern to join our team in Ipswich. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical skills in video editing, set management, and general production assistance. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to various projects from concept to completion, and learning the intricacies of professional video production. This is an on-site role, providing invaluable exposure to live production environments and studio operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior editors with post-production tasks, including footage logging, rough cuts, and audio synchronisation.
- Support on-set operations, including equipment setup and breakdown (lighting, cameras, sound gear).
- Organise and manage media assets, ensuring proper cataloguing and storage.
- Contribute creative ideas during pre-production meetings and brainstorming sessions.
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the production team.
- Assist with filming various content, potentially including interviews, b-roll, and studio shoots.
- Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, both on set and in the editing suite.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Understanding of fundamental video production principles and workflows.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to fast-paced environments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
- Enthusiasm for film, television, and video production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a film, media, or related degree program.
- A portfolio or reel showcasing personal video projects or editing work.
- Familiarity with camera operation and basic lighting techniques.
- Experience with graphic design or motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
- Previous experience in a volunteer or assistant role on a production set.
