Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented General Counsel Assistant to join our dynamic Legal Department in Maroochydore. This vital role provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the General Counsel and the broader legal team, contributing to the efficient functioning of our in-house legal services. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the General Counsel and legal team, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and preparing presentations.
  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with precision.
  • Organise and maintain physical and electronic legal files, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with record-keeping policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications, acting as a liaison between the legal department and other business units or external counsel.
  • Assist with legal research, document production, and e-discovery processes as directed.
  • Manage expense reports, invoice processing, and departmental budgeting tasks.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new legal team members and assist with internal training initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all legal matters and sensitive company information.
  • Undertake special projects and ad-hoc tasks to support the overall objectives of the legal department.

Required Skills

  • Proven administrative support experience, preferably within a legal or corporate environment.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field.
