Job Description

Bunnings Warehouse in North Lakes is seeking an enthusiastic Garden Centre Hand to join our vibrant team. No prior experience is required – we’re looking for individuals with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in horticulture. You will be responsible for maintaining the health and appearance of our extensive plant selection, assisting customers with their gardening needs, and contributing to a tidy and inviting garden centre environment. Key Responsibilities
- Watering and fertilizing plants to ensure their health and vitality.
- Assisting customers with plant selection, care advice, and locating products.
- Receiving and merchandising new plant stock, ensuring proper display and pricing.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the garden centre, including sweeping, tidying shelves, and waste removal.
- Monitoring plants for pests and diseases, reporting issues to supervisors.
- Assisting with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Operating basic garden equipment safely (e.g., watering hoses, hand tools).
- Providing exceptional customer service, answering queries, and resolving concerns.
Required Skills
- A genuine interest in plants and gardening.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift moderate weights, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment (any industry).
- Basic knowledge of plant types and care (not mandatory, but a bonus).
- First Aid certificate (desirable).
