Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and professional Function Waiters to join our dedicated events team. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding service and contributing to the success of diverse events, from elegant weddings to sophisticated corporate gatherings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring guests have a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, working collaboratively with our culinary and event management teams to create unforgettable moments.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up function rooms according to event specifications, including tables, chairs, and place settings.
- Greet and serve guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring their needs are met.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, providing recommendations when appropriate.
- Serve food and beverages in accordance with established service standards and timings.
- Clear tables and maintain a tidy event space throughout the function, proactively managing spills or issues.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries, escalating complex issues to supervisors.
- Assist with breakdown and clean-up of event areas after functions, ensuring all equipment is stored correctly.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure event environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, representing the venue's high standards.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring precise setup and service execution.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 15kg).
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including table settings and menu items.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, particularly in a function or event setting.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, valid in South Australia.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per event schedules.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and contributing to successful events.
