Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Floor Sander Assistant to join our team in Penrith, NSW. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone eager to learn a skilled trade and build a career in the flooring industry. You will work indoors, assisting our experienced floor sanders with various tasks related to preparing, sanding, and finishing timber floors. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals with no prior experience but a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior floor sanders with preparing work areas, including moving furniture and covering surfaces.
- Help set up and operate floor sanding machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of floors before and after sanding.
- Apply stains, sealants, and finishes under supervision.
- Perform general labour tasks as required, such as loading and unloading materials.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure cleanliness of job sites.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Learn and apply new techniques and skills related to floor sanding and finishing.
