Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Employee Relations Assistant to join our Corporate Support team in Wangaratta. This vital role involves providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to our Employee Relations function, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of workplace matters. You will be instrumental in maintaining confidential records, preparing essential documentation, and assisting with the coordination of investigations and policy implementation, all within a professional and fast-paced corporate environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative and operational support to the Employee Relations team.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date employee relations records and documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and various correspondence pertaining to ER matters.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, interviews, and other ER-related appointments and events.
  • Conduct research and gather pertinent information to support ongoing investigations and case management.
  • Contribute to the review, development, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as a first point of contact for routine employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Support the Employee Relations team in ensuring compliance with relevant industrial awards, agreements, and legislative requirements.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, capable of clear and concise articulation.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) in an administrative or HR support role, particularly within a large corporate organisation.
  • Familiarity with Australian employment law, modern awards, and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems or similar human resources management software.
