Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Drafting Assistant Intern to join our Civil & Structural Projects team in Bunbury. This internship offers a fantastic opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering consulting environment. You will support our engineers and senior drafters in preparing detailed design drawings, layouts, and schematics for various civil and structural projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of civil and structural engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Revise and update existing drawings based on engineer mark-ups and project requirements.
- Maintain and organize drawing files and documentation according to project standards.
- Perform basic calculations and data entry as required.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure accuracy and consistency of drawings.
- Learn and apply GHD's drafting standards and procedures.
- Support the team with general administrative tasks related to drafting and project documentation.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant diploma or degree program (e.g., Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Drafting, CAD Technology).
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Fundamental understanding of civil and/or structural engineering principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software and processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Civil 3D or Revit software.
- Experience with document management systems.
- Previous exposure to an engineering or construction environment (e.g., through coursework or personal projects).
