Job Description

Petstock Port Lincoln is seeking an enthusiastic Dog Daycare Attendant to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll be instrumental in creating a safe, stimulating, and positive experience for all the dogs in our care. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise groups of dogs in an open-play environment, ensuring safety and positive interactions.
  • Engage dogs in play activities, including throwing toys, leading group games, and providing individual attention.
  • Monitor dog behavior and body language, intervening appropriately to prevent conflicts and ensure a harmonious environment.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic daycare facility, including regular cleaning of play areas, kennels, and common spaces.
  • Feed and administer medication to dogs as instructed by pet owners.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog's day, behaviour, and any concerns.
  • Assist with check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide basic grooming tasks such as brushing or towelling dogs after play.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to animal care and safety.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love and compassion for dogs of all breeds and sizes.
  • Ability to manage and supervise groups of dogs effectively.
  • High energy level and physical stamina to keep up with active dogs.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail regarding dog behavior.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a dog daycare, kennel, or veterinary setting.
  • Knowledge of dog behaviour, breeds, and common health concerns.
  • Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Relevant certifications in animal care or training.
