Job Description

Petstock Port Lincoln is seeking an enthusiastic Dog Daycare Attendant to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll be instrumental in creating a safe, stimulating, and positive experience for all the dogs in our care. This isn’t just a job; it’s an opportunity to spend your days surrounded by wagging tails and happy barks, ensuring our furry clients receive the highest standard of care, play, and supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of dogs in an open-play environment, ensuring safety and positive interactions.
- Engage dogs in play activities, including throwing toys, leading group games, and providing individual attention.
- Monitor dog behavior and body language, intervening appropriately to prevent conflicts and ensure a harmonious environment.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic daycare facility, including regular cleaning of play areas, kennels, and common spaces.
- Feed and administer medication to dogs as instructed by pet owners.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog's day, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Assist with check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Provide basic grooming tasks such as brushing or towelling dogs after play.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to animal care and safety.
Required Skills
- Genuine love and compassion for dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Ability to manage and supervise groups of dogs effectively.
- High energy level and physical stamina to keep up with active dogs.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail regarding dog behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a dog daycare, kennel, or veterinary setting.
- Knowledge of dog behaviour, breeds, and common health concerns.
- Pet First Aid and CPR certification.
- Relevant certifications in animal care or training.
