Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dispensing Optician to join our dynamic team in Fortitude Valley. Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret optical prescriptions and provide professional dispensing advice for spectacles and contact lenses.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that best suit their visual needs, lifestyle, and aesthetic preferences.
  • Perform accurate measurements for frame fitting and lens centration.
  • Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and contact lens care.
  • Conduct eyewear adjustments and repairs.
  • Manage inventory and maintain a tidy and professional store environment.
  • Collaborate with Optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the store's overall success.
  • Stay updated with the latest optical products, technologies, and industry trends.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dispensing Optician.
  • Cert IV in Optical Dispensing or equivalent qualification.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of optical products, lens types, and frame materials.
  • Ability to accurately interpret optical prescriptions.
  • Proficiency in conducting eyewear adjustments and repairs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for optics and helping people improve their vision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced ophthalmic equipment.
  • Knowledge of contact lens fitting and patient training.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or mentoring role.
