Job Description

Are you an early riser with a passion for working with animals and a desire to learn new skills? Norco Co-operative Limited is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dairy Shed Hand for morning shifts at our Goulburn-area farm. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals keen to enter the dairy industry, as full training will be provided, including how to milk cows efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with morning milking routines, including preparing cows for milking, guiding them into the shed, and attaching/detaching milking units.
• Ensure the milking shed and all equipment are thoroughly cleaned and maintained to high hygiene and biosecurity standards.
• Monitor the health and well-being of the dairy herd, observing for any signs of illness or injury, and reporting concerns promptly to the farm manager.
• Perform general farm duties as required, such as feeding calves, moving cows between paddocks, and undertaking light maintenance tasks around the property.
• Adhere strictly to all animal welfare guidelines, farm safety protocols, and operational procedures.
• Actively participate in training and learn best practices for efficient and humane dairy farming operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with animals or in a general farm environment (dairy experience not required).
• Basic understanding of agricultural machinery or a willingness to learn their operation.
• Current driver's license and reliable personal transport to reach the farm location.
• Current First Aid certification (or a willingness to obtain one upon employment).
