Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our precision engineering team in Elizabeth, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for advanced machining operations. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials to ensure the efficient production of high-quality components. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and implement CNC programs using CAM software for various multi-axis machining centers (mills and lathes).
  • Analyze blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies and toolpaths.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machinery for program prove-out and first-article inspections.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure part quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Optimize existing programs for efficiency, reduced cycle times, and improved part quality.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, machinists, and quality control personnel to resolve technical issues and continuously improve processes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setup sheets, and operational procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC milling and turning machines.
  • Solid knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, and their applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in CNC programming or machining.
  • Experience with specific CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Prior experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
