Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Migration Specialist to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding our clients through complex cloud transformation journeys, from initial assessment and strategy development to actual migration and optimization across various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will work with diverse technologies, methodologies, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and secure transitions for mission-critical applications and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute cloud migration projects, including discovery, assessment, planning, migration, and post-migration support.
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Develop detailed migration strategies, roadmaps, and architectural blueprints.
- Collaborate with client teams and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform hands-on migration activities, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies, and best practices throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in cloud architecture and migration.
- Proven experience with at least two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, identity, and access management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid grasp of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and virtualization.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in a client-facing consulting role.
