Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to join our dynamic team within a major hospital setting in Lismore. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical consultation and advanced nursing care to patients with complex needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and protocols within the specialty.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and research projects to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Act as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing clinical supervision, education, and professional development opportunities.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and operational management of nursing services within the designated specialty.
- Manage caseloads of complex patients, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Undertake clinical governance activities, including risk management and incident review.
- Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring person-centred care approaches.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
- Extensive post-registration clinical experience (minimum 5 years) in a relevant specialty area.
- Post-graduate qualification in nursing or a related health discipline (e.g., Master of Nursing, Graduate Diploma).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in clinical leadership, education, and mentorship.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management principles.
