Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part-time Canteen Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Subiaco Sports & Leisure Centre. This role is crucial in ensuring our members and guests have access to quality refreshments and snacks during their visits. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling food and beverage sales, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with basic food preparation. This position offers consistent day shifts, perfect for someone looking for stable part-time work in a lively sports environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve food and beverages to customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Prepare simple food items such as sandwiches, salads, and hot snacks.
  • Restock inventory, ensuring popular items are always available.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the canteen area, including food preparation surfaces, serving areas, and seating.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the canteen.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve minor issues professionally.
