Job Description
Are you passionate about animals and looking to start your career in pet care? Hanrob Pet Hotels is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Boarding Kennel Hand. This entry-level position requires no prior experience, as comprehensive training will be provided. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of dogs and cats staying at our Wetherill Park facility. If you love animals, are reliable, and eager to learn, this is the perfect opportunity to make a difference in the lives of pets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as directed.
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and common spaces to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Monitor animal behaviour and health, promptly reporting any concerns or changes to senior staff.
- Supervise playtime and exercise sessions, ensuring the safety and engagement of all animals.
- Assist with basic grooming tasks such as brushing and bathing.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and animal handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and animal activities.
- Assist with check-ins and check-outs of pets as needed.
Required Skills
- A genuine passion for animals and their welfare.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- No prior professional experience in animal care is required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous personal experience caring for pets (dogs or cats).
- Basic understanding of animal behaviour.
- Animal first aid certification.
- Current driver's license.
