Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Biosecurity Admin Support professional to join our team in Mandurah. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our biosecurity initiatives, providing essential administrative assistance to support our national protection efforts. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure our biosecurity officers can operate effectively and efficiently, contributing directly to Australia’s defence against invasive pests and diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to biosecurity officers and teams.
- Manage and organise documentation, records, and databases related to biosecurity operations.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and mail.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other official documents as required.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Respond to general inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the coordination of training sessions and workshops.
- Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience in a government or regulatory environment.
- Familiarity with biosecurity principles or agricultural industries.
- Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or a related field.
