Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as Casual Bin Collectors. This is a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and environmental health of Port Lincoln. If you’re physically fit, enjoy working outdoors, and committed to contributing to your community, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and assist with the collection of kerbside waste and recycling bins.
- Adhere to designated collection routes and schedules efficiently.
- Ensure proper loading and secure transportation of collected waste to designated facilities.
- Perform pre-start and post-start checks on collection vehicles (where applicable, under supervision).
- Report any issues, hazards, or maintenance requirements to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain a high standard of workplace health and safety at all times.
- Interact respectfully and professionally with the public and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 25kg).
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining collection schedules.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (Class C minimum).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in waste management or similar outdoor manual labor roles.
- Heavy Vehicle (HR/HC) Driver's License.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle checks.
- Knowledge of Port Lincoln's street network and local area.
