Job Description
We are seeking reliable and energetic Baggage Porters to join our ground services team at Lismore Regional Airport. This is a casual role offering flexible day shifts, perfect for individuals looking for consistent work in a dynamic airport environment. As a Baggage Porter, you will play a crucial role in assisting passengers with their luggage, ensuring efficient movement of bags, and contributing to the overall positive travel experience. You’ll be part of a supportive team, working in a fast-paced setting where attention to detail and customer service are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently handle passenger luggage, including loading and unloading from trolleys and baggage claim carousels.
- Assist passengers with special baggage requirements and provide excellent customer service.
- Operate and maintain baggage trolleys and other ground support equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all airport safety and security regulations and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with ground staff, flight crews, and airport personnel to ensure timely service.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area within the baggage handling facilities.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy baggage (up to 23kg regularly) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
- Ability to work flexible casual day shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within an airport, hospitality, or logistics environment.
- Current valid Australian Driver's License.
- First Aid certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of airport operations and security protocols.
