Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Auto Mechanic with a strong specialization in European vehicles, particularly Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, and other VAG group brands, to join our dynamic service team in Belconnen. Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on European vehicles, with a primary focus on Volkswagen models.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and service checks according to manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, HVAC, and electrical components.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technology, repair techniques, and manufacturer updates, especially for European brands.
- Document all services and repairs accurately and thoroughly.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle issues, repair status, and recommended additional services.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and adheres to dealership and industry standards.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with significant experience specializing in European vehicles.
- Proven expertise in diagnostic procedures and repair of complex vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, etc.) for European brands.
- Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools and software (e.g., VCDS, ODIS for VAG group).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade qualification as an Automotive Mechanic (Certificate III or IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
- Manufacturer-specific training or certifications (e.g., Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz).
- Experience working in a dealership environment for a European brand.
- Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling Licence.
