Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Architectural Graduate (Intern) to join our design team in Gladstone. This junior design placement offers an invaluable opportunity for a budding architect to gain practical experience, develop essential skills, and contribute to real-world projects under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will be involved in various stages of the architectural process, from initial concept development to documentation, and will play a supporting role in delivering innovative and functional designs for our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, presentations, and models using various software.
- Conduct research on building materials, construction methods, and local building codes and regulations.
- Support senior architects and designers in all phases of project development, from concept design to construction documentation.
- Learn and apply industry-standard architectural software, including CAD and BIM platforms.
- Participate actively in team meetings, design reviews, and client presentations.
- Help with administrative tasks related to project documentation and office organisation.
- Contribute to site analysis and assist in preparing reports and feasibility studies.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong graphic presentation and visual communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A strong portfolio showcasing academic design projects and technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Australian building codes and standards.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Rhino, or Enscape.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in an architectural or design-related field.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable design practices.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
