Job Description

Are you passionate about food and eager to kickstart your culinary career? Pullman Bunker Bay Resort is offering an incredible opportunity for an Apprentice Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with no prior experience who is keen to learn and grow. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training under the guidance of our experienced chefs, learning all aspects of professional kitchen operations, from food preparation and cooking techniques to hygiene and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs with food preparation and cooking tasks across various kitchen sections.
  • Learn and practice different cooking methods, knife skills, and presentation techniques.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, including proper storage and rotation of food items.
  • Follow recipes and ensure high-quality standards in all dishes prepared.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Adhere to all resort policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Eagerness to learn and a strong passion for cooking and the food industry.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene (willingness to learn more is key).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed Year 10 or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a hospitality or customer service role (even if not in a kitchen).
  • Basic Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one upon commencement).
