Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Afternoon Traffic Controllers for casual work in Maroochydore, QLD. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around our project sites, protecting both the public and our work crews. As an Afternoon Traffic Controller, you will be responsible for setting up and managing traffic control systems, communicating effectively with drivers, and maintaining a high standard of safety awareness. Key Responsibilities
- Safely set up and dismantle traffic management signs and devices according to approved traffic management plans.
- Control traffic using stop/slow bats and other devices to ensure public and worker safety.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and site personnel.
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust controls as necessary.
- Maintain a clear and safe work zone.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Report any incidents, hazards, or near misses promptly.
Required Skills
- Valid Traffic Controller accreditation (e.g., QLD Traffic Controller Card, White Card).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of traffic management principles and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Physical fitness to perform duties in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in traffic control or a related field.
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) accreditation.
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
