Job Description
Top End Nannies is seeking a compassionate and responsible After School Nanny to join a wonderful family in Parap, Darwin. This vital role involves providing engaging and reliable care for children during the crucial after-school hours. You will be responsible for ensuring their safety, assisting with homework, preparing nutritious snacks, and engaging them in fun and educational activities. The ideal candidate will be energetic, patient, and proactive, with a genuine love for working with children. This is a part-time position with consistent afternoon shifts from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, providing a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s development while balancing other commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from school or designated location (walking distance or short drive).
- Supervise and assist children with homework and school projects.
- Prepare healthy and age-appropriate snacks.
- Engage children in creative play, outdoor activities, and educational games.
- Ensure a safe and tidy environment for the children.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's daily activities and any concerns.
- Maintain a consistent routine for after-school activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, or similar roles).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of patience, creativity, and energy.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to build rapport with children and parents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
- Current Northern Territory Working With Children Card (Ochre Card).
- Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Previous experience as an after-school nanny.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate developmental activities.
