Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Receivable Lead to join our Corporate Finance team in Busselton. This pivotal role will oversee all accounts receivable operations, ensuring timely collection of payments, accurate reconciliation, and strong financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in maintaining healthy cash flow and supporting the financial stability of our corporate clients, contributing significantly to our overall financial performance. This is a high-impact role demanding meticulous attention to detail, exceptional leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable function, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the timely collection of outstanding corporate accounts, implementing effective collection strategies.
  • Reconcile complex accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and implement best practices for invoicing, credit management, and cash application processes.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to streamline processes and resolve client billing issues.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the customer query resolution process, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and accurate.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience within a corporate finance environment, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable best practices.
  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of negotiating and building strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, delegate tasks effectively, and motivate staff.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems implementation or migration.
  • Knowledge of Australian financial regulations and compliance.
  • Project management experience in a finance context.
  • Experience working with corporate clients in diverse industries.
