Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Furniture Assembly Hand to join our casual team in North Lakes. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling a wide range of furniture items according to manufacturer specifications. All necessary tools will be provided. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work, who enjoy hands-on tasks and contributing to a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble various types of furniture (e.g., cabinets, beds, tables, chairs) accurately and efficiently.
- Read and interpret assembly instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Utilise provided tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all assembled products meet quality standards and are free from defects.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Assist with moving and organising furniture components as needed.
- Report any missing parts or damaged components to the supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully.
- Basic proficiency in using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, screwdrivers, wrenches).
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy furniture items (up to 25kg) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in furniture assembly or a similar hands-on role is a plus, but not essential.
- Experience working in a warehouse or retail environment.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry or construction principles.
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
