Job Description
Are you an aspiring pastry chef with a passion for creating exquisite desserts and a desire to learn from the best in a fine dining setting? Century Inn Traralgon is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pastry Chef Intern to join our dynamic culinary team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume, high-standard kitchen, specializing in sophisticated pastries, desserts, and baked goods. You will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef, learning advanced techniques, ingredient selection, and presentation artistry crucial for a career in fine dining.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef and other pastry team members in daily mise en place and production.
- Learn and execute various pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, tempering chocolate, and preparing sauces and fillings.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the pastry section, adhering to all food safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory of pastry ingredients and inform senior chefs of supply needs.
- Support the plating and presentation of desserts for service, ensuring consistency and aesthetic appeal.
- Contribute creative ideas for new dessert items and seasonal specials.
- Understand and uphold the culinary standards and vision of Century Inn Traralgon.
