Job Description
Join Norco Cooperative as an Operations Management Intern and gain invaluable hands-on experience in the dynamic world of supply chain and logistics. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations, from farm to consumer. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning about inventory management, demand forecasting, distribution networks, and process optimization within a leading Australian dairy producer. This internship is designed to provide practical insights and develop foundational skills essential for a career in operations and supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing current supply chain processes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Support inventory management activities, including stock level monitoring and reconciliation.
- Contribute to demand forecasting and planning initiatives.
- Participate in data collection and analysis to inform operational decisions.
- Shadow operations managers in various departments to understand daily workflows.
- Help prepare reports and presentations on operational performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth logistics and distribution.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous exposure to a business or logistics environment (e.g., through coursework, part-time job, or volunteer work).
- Familiarity with supply chain software or ERP systems.
- Understanding of lean principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Passion for the food and beverage industry.
