Job Description
Join the Woolworths Group team as a Cold Store Picker in our state-of-the-art distribution center in Townsville. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, chilled environment, playing a crucial role in ensuring fresh products reach our stores and customers. We offer premium rates for those dedicated to maintaining high standards of accuracy and speed in a temperature-controlled setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders in a chilled environment (0-5°C).
- Operate MHE (Material Handling Equipment) such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely (training provided if necessary).
- Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
- Meet daily picking targets and performance metrics.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cold storage environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 20kg) repeatedly.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing or logistics environment, particularly cold storage.
- Current forklift license (LF or LO class) or experience operating similar MHE.
- Understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
