Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Road Construction Hand to join our Albury team on a part-time day roster. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in the civil construction industry, assisting skilled workers with various tasks to deliver high-quality road infrastructure projects. You will be an integral part of our crew, ensuring worksites are safe, efficient, and well-maintained while contributing to projects that improve local communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist skilled tradespersons with a variety of tasks on road construction sites, including excavation, material preparation, and finishing.
• Perform general labouring duties such as digging, shovelling, raking, compacting, and lifting materials.
• Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under direct supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all site regulations and housekeeping standards.
• Load and unload materials and equipment, ensuring proper handling, storage, and security.
• Strictly follow all company safety procedures, policies, and traffic management plans to ensure personal and team safety.
• Assist with minor equipment cleaning and maintenance as required by the site supervisor.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated physical fitness and the ability to perform sustained manual labour in various outdoor weather conditions.
• Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a valued member of a diverse team.
• A proactive, reliable, and committed work ethic, with excellent punctuality and attendance.
• Eagerness to learn new construction skills and a willingness to take clear direction from supervisors and senior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) is highly advantageous.
• Some previous experience in a construction, labouring, or outdoor manual role, even if minor or informal.
• A current and valid Australian driver's license.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
