Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Writer with a strong focus on healthcare knowledge to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality, scientifically accurate, and regulatory-compliant medical communications for a variety of audiences, including healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and patients. You will leverage your expertise in diverse therapeutic areas to translate complex scientific data into clear, concise, and compelling content. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional writing, research, and project management skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, write, edit, and review a broad range of medical and scientific documents, including clinical study reports, protocols, regulatory submissions, scientific publications, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure all content is scientifically accurate, grammatically correct, and compliant with relevant guidelines (e.g., ICH, CONSORT, regulatory authority requirements).
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinical, regulatory, marketing, and statistical colleagues, to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines and project specifications.
  • Critically appraise scientific literature and data to develop evidence-based content.
  • Participate in content strategy development and provide expert medical writing input.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas, industry trends, and medical writing best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Medical Writer, ideally within a pharmaceutical company, CRO, or medical communications agency.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of scientific and medical concepts across various therapeutic areas.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and presenting complex clinical data.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA) relevant to medical writing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, Master's) in a life science, medical, or related discipline.
  • Experience with publication planning and submission processes.
  • Knowledge of specific therapeutic areas relevant to IQVIA's portfolio.
  • Experience in plain language summaries or patient-focused content development.
  • Certification from a professional medical writing association (e.g., AMWA, EMWA).
